This treatment is performed when a tooth has a very deep cavity, cracks, or otherwise develops an unhealthy nerve. During root canal treatment, the unhealthy nerve tissue is removed and the pulp chamber is sealed to prevent infection. Root canal treatment is highly effective in allowing us to save your tooth. After the tooth heals, a crown would be placed to prevent the tooth from fracturing.
Root canal treatment is often an emergency. At our office, we do our best to take care of emergencies on the same day. Dr. Katyal is also available to her patients of record by phone at all times. Often a prescription for antibiotics is the first step in providing pain relief. Our goal is to save your tooth and your smile.
